Dave Coleman was trained by Joe Vanderzalm, owner of Vanderzalm Construction in Niagara Falls Canada during the summers of high school and University. We specialized in new home construction, renovations, additions, and finish carpentry.
University of Wisconsin Eau Claire
Dave Coleman received his Bachelor of Business Management at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, Eau Claire, Wisconsin USA. While captain of the NCAA men’s varsity hockey team (2003-2007), Dave also acted as Secretary for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (2005-2007)
Stanley Black & decker
After graduating University Dave held various sales positions for various companies. Over a 7-year career with Stanley Black & Decker finally as National Account Channel Manager selling and promoting Dewalt, Stanley, Bostitch, and other legacy brands.
Dave’s career in Real Estate investment introduced him to appearances on various HGTV shows including ‘Renovation Island’, ‘Family Home Overhaul’, ‘Vanilla Ice Project’, and ‘Island of Bryan’
RENOVATION ISLAND
Dave most recent involvement in ‘Renovation Island’ Season 4, where Dave Coleman was the Project Manager and lead carpenter for the residence of HGTV hosts Bryan and Sarah Baeumler. We fully renovated a 3,700 square foot residence with a 3,200 square foot plane hangar in Wellington Florida. Dave started working with Bryan and Sarah Baeumler January 2019 during ‘Renovation Island’, Season 1, Caerula Mar Ocean Club, South Andros Bahamas.
Over a three-year period, Dave Coleman was a lead carpenter and project Manager renovating Caerula Mar Club which was an abandoned boutique hotel in South Andros Bahamas for HGTV hosts Bryan and Sarah Baeumler for HGTV ‘Renovation Island’. During his time working with the Baeumlers, Dave renovated 8 decks, a hotel block of 20 rooms, four 1200 square foot custom villas, a commercial laundry room, a PADI dive shop, the hotel boutique shop, renovated the maintenance workshop, and had temporary roles as Maintenance Manager at Caerula Mar Club. During his time Dave managed construction crews from USA, Canada, and Bahamas. While managing the crews and the projects Dave also had an active role in scenes on camera for the episodes of ‘Renovation Island’.
While filming ‘Renovation Island’ Dave Coleman and his crew also renovated the office space for Sarah Baeumler Design Group on Royal Palm Way on Palm Beach Island, Florida. We converted a commercial office space into an interior design show room. We created 2 ‘bull pen’ workstations for the interior designers, a break out room, a stone column feature, and a feature wall which is the back drop of the customer lounge.
SUNRISE COVE
Dave grew up working on a family cottage rental property in Maynooth Canada. Dave worked in the summers with family members who are carpenters at a young age. During this time Dave learned about all aspects of home renovations, the importance of property management, and the skill of customer service. Dave was also a member of the crew that built the family log home when Dave was 15.
